Can a large iron decorated reservoir, testimony of outdated railway structures, become one of the most important museums in the world? The answer is: yes, it can. In this tour of the Orsay Museum you will discover how the Italian architect Gae Aulenti has made possible this wonderful conversion of an abandoned station into a museum.
Our bizarre walk, where once the train ran, will be conducted between magnificent works of art ranging from the mid-nineteenth century to 1914. The protagonists will be the realism, the impressionist movement, the post-impressionism and the art nouveau. Masters such as Delacroix, Ingres, Courbet, Daumier, Millet, Manet, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Rodin, Cezanne, Vang Gogh, Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec and many others will be the distinguished leaders of our tour.
